Our big idea of sustainability drew our attention to the little honey bee. By now, we all know how important the role of the honey bee is for nature and humans. We thought about it and decided to do something: the newbetech bee sponsorship.

Our organization's commitment to sustainability inspired us to place a special focus on honey bees—small but indispensable players in biodiversity and agriculture. To promote their protection, we launched the “newbetech Bee Sponsorship” program. This program enables individuals and companies to sponsor bee colonies. In this way, our sponsors help to strengthen the bee population while raising awareness of the ecological challenges facing these important pollinators.
What is the newbetech bee sponsorship program?
The symbolic newbetech bee sponsorship is our sustainable contribution to protecting honey bees and thus the ecosystem. Every month, we provide financial support to ensure that our regional beekeeper has sufficient resources for housing and caring for the honey bees.
Our newbetech bee colony has a population of 50,000 bees in summer. They are located at the Niersperle bee farm in Grefrath. There, the beekeeper takes care of the settlement, care, and protection of the bees all year round. This includes:

Honey harvest and bottling
The honey harvest also allows us and some of our partners and customers to enjoy newbetech honey. Our beekeeper makes sure that only a small portion of the honey is harvested. The majority remains with the bee colony. This means that the colony does not need to be fed with replacement food, but can obtain all the important nutrients it needs to stay healthy from its own honey.

Protection of the honey bee
Since honey bees are so important for the ecosystem and therefore also for humans, it is important to protect their lives. Due to the rapid decline in bee populations, every single honey bee depends on the support of each and every one of us.
With the newbetech bee sponsorship program, we support the little honeybee and thus make a major contribution to the ecosystem and society.
The contribution of the honey bee
Honey bees play an incredibly important role in nature. They pollinate numerous crops and wild plants, thereby ensuring their reproduction. This creates a cycle between animals and plants that must not be interrupted: bees need the nectar of plants for food, and plants need bees to spread their pollen.
Only when bees are alive can they search for food, act as pollinators, and reproduce crops for humans. This is why honey bees are considered one of the most important animals for society, as they are primarily responsible for the diversity of food we enjoy.
